Osama bin Laden’s Assassination Changes Nothing

Osama bin Laden

“10 years, 2 wars, 919,967 deaths, and $1,188,263,000,000 later, we managed to kill one person.”‎

Even after the supposed victory of bin Laden’s death, who wants to bet that the U.S. military remains in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Yemen, and the other 130+ countries we occupy for an indefinite amount of time? Osama bin Laden’s death does not magically grant Americans and individuals around the world new freedoms; it does not repeal the U.S. government’s massive infringements on individual liberty; it does not justify the military’s murder of thousands of individuals in the Middle East. The wars will go on, liberty will continue to be trampled and neglected, and the government will merely find a new face to rally the fight against “terrorism,” despite what the talking heads at CNN might predict.

I seriously doubt we’ll move out of any country even after the death of OBL (or UBL as he now seems to be know…heh). I keep asking why we are in Afghanastan (sp). I heard on the news that al Qaeda wasn’t even in Afghanastan. I think cable news said we were fighting the Taliban there. It’s all BS.

We need to bring our troops home. I’m not sure how many, but I’d say 90% – 95% of the troops need to come home. I think that having a few military bases around the world could come in handy, but only for defensive purposes, NOT offensive wars like Iraq, Afghanastan, Libya and others, and only if the country wants us there.

While I’m on the topic of “wars”, why is it no one (i.e. Congress), is willing to impeach the President? He doesn’t have the power to declare a war, only Congress has that power. What’s wrong with this country and why is Congress doing nothing about Libya??

Don’t get me wrong, I’m thankful OBL is dead. He was an enemy to this county, even if we created him. I don’t think his death will change our policies, In the short term terrorism will probably increase.

Let’s bring our troops back home and close our southern border to prevent terrorists from slipping in our back door.
