The police state is upon us. Drones now fly over our skies, U.S. citizens can be indefinitely detained without a trial, and police forces are increasingly militarized for duty. Wake up, education yourself and your friends and neighbors, because without an informed populace things will only get uglier. Times are rapidly changing, be ready. Stay informed, anticipate new directions, and prepare for the unexpected.

Ron Paul - American Republic

“The American Republic is in remnant status. The stage is set for our country eventually devolving into a military dictatorship, and few seem to care. These precedent-setting changes in the law are extremely dangerous and will change American jurisprudence forever if not revised.” ~ Ron Paul

Ron Paul: The TSA and the Growing Police State http://davidkretzmann.com/2012/01/ron-paul-the-tsa-and-the-growing-police-state/ http://davidkretzmann.com/2012/01/ron-paul-the-tsa-and-the-growing-police-state/#comments Wed, 25 Jan 2012 08:10:40 +0000 David Kretzmann http://davidkretzmann.com/?p=1246

"The police state in this country is growing out of control." ~ Ron Paul

“The police state in this country is growing out of control.  One of the ultimate embodiments of this is the TSA that gropes and grabs our children, our seniors, and our loved ones and neighbors with disabilities.  The TSA does all of this while doing nothing to keep us safe. That is why my ‘Plan to Restore America,’ in additional to cutting $1 trillion dollars in federal spending in one year, eliminates the TSA. We must restore the freedom and respect for liberty that once made American the greatest nation in human history.  I am deeply committed to doing that as President of the United States.” ~ Ron Paul; January 23, 2012

John Mica (R.-Fla), author of the legislation that created the TSA, agrees with Ron Paul:

“The whole program has been hijacked by bureaucrats. It mushroomed into an army. It’s gone from a couple-billion-dollar enterprise to close to $9 billion. They’ve failed to actually detect any threat in 10 years.”

Obama to Sign Bill Allowing Indefinite Detention of American Citizens http://davidkretzmann.com/2011/12/obama-to-sign-bill-allowing-indefinite-detention-of-american-citizens/ http://davidkretzmann.com/2011/12/obama-to-sign-bill-allowing-indefinite-detention-of-american-citizens/#comments Thu, 15 Dec 2011 01:27:24 +0000 David Kretzmann http://davidkretzmann.com/?p=937 It’s official. The PATRIOT Act gave the federal government the ability to wiretap U.S. citizens without warrants. The National Defense Authorization Act of 2012, which Obama has now promised to sign into law, grants the federal government the ability to detain U.S. citizens indefinitely without trial.

So much for the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution which explicitly states, “No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury.”

What’s disturbing is Obama’s justification of signing this dreadful legislation into law:

“The White House announced today that President Obama will sign a once-disputed defense authorization bill because authors have removed language that would have restricted the administration’s handling of high-value terrorist detainees.” — USA Today; December 14, 2011

The purpose of the Fifth Amendment and the Constitution is not to protect the guilty, it is to protect the innocent. The fact that this was not the prime concern of the Obama Administration, or the majority of legislators in the House and Senate, is extremely frightening.

All lawmakers take an oath to uphold the Constitution. They don’t take an oath to fight terrorists, they don’t take an oath to increase military spending, and they certainly don’t take an oath eliminate liberty in the name of security; they only take an oath to uphold the Constitution. It is shameful that the American people let lawmakers and presidents legislate their human rights and liberties away in the name of protecting a false sense of security.

This legislation passed with a 93-7 margin in the Senate, with Senator Rand Paul staunchly opposing the bill. In the House, a 283-186 vote allowed a passage of the bill. Congressmen Ron Paul and Justin Amash were among the minority strongly against the legislation. Ron Paul described the bill as “arrogant and bold and dangerous.

The police state is quickly expanding in the U.S. Obama is simply amplifying the horrendous legislation (such as the PATRIOT Act) that was signed into law under George W. Bush. If we are to protect our God-given liberties, I submit that there is only one man running for president worthy of our support. Watch this video to understand why:

“The means of defence agst. foreign danger, have been always the instruments of tyranny at home.” ~ James Madison

Resist the police state; RSVP for the December 16 Tea Party Money Bomb at TeaParty11.com.

For those wondering, this is regarding the real Tea Party movement inspired by Ron Paul’s presidential bid in 2007. This has no connection to the phony “Tea Party” movement that was hijacked by the GOP and made a largely anti-Obama campaign.
